dude - stick with the iPod headphones. They sound great with the iPod (IMO).

That may be, but where's the fun in that!

I can't stand the iPod headphones.. fake, exaggerated, very 'trebly' bass... not to mention the discomfort.. their round, non-contoured shape hurts my ear after about 10 minutes.

I have to say the ksc-35s take the cake here. I've been running with mine for a few months now (until that point, I only listened to them on my fat ass

), and they are perfect in that respect. They never come off, sound great and simply disappear because of their fit and light weight.

MX400s are quite good, as well. durable, too.

fyleow, you use the 497 when running? heh, right on man...thats gotta get kinda nasty after a few miles, though. i sweat a lot, so i would probably turn those things into sponges. does the pleather change consistency after a few dozen runs? i always thought the px200 would be even better for me, but am scared that soaking the pads would destroy them too quickly.

edit: i gotta start proof-reading these things

I run about 4 miles every other day and the pleather pads are still in good shape. No discoloration or anything. It's actually not too bad, as long as you don't take off the headphones while still running. It only feels nasty when the sweat on the headphones is colder than body temperature and you put them on. Keep them on and they are good.
