Hey guys,
 
I have a great passion for music, but a lack of technical background so i can really use your advice.
What can get me the best possible combination in terms of sound!
 
 
Plan is to hook the dac-amp combo up with a pair of headphones (maybe a sennheiser HD 600 or 650, or a Denon). Still have to buy my headphones!!
 
Question 1
 
The Maverick Audio TubeMagic D1 DAC is said to be a good one, when i read all the forums. Is it really?
 
Question 2
 
I have a decision to make on the D1, since there are 3 different types.
Namely:
 
-The basic D1 199 USD
-The basic D1 including the NOS GE 5670W tube.  219 USD
- The Basic D1 including  two high-end OPA627 OpAmps and one NOS GE 5670W tube. 244 USD
 
What is the difference?  
 
Moneywise, i dont care to pay 199 or 244 usd. I just want the best option!
 
 
Question 3
 
If you guys think it is a good call to go for the D1, what headphone should i buy that forms a nice combination?
 
 
Overall budget is something like,
 
dac-amp combo 250 USD
Headphones 300 USD

Think you're going about this backwards.
 
You should first research headphones and find one that fits your preferences, then pair it with an amp that synergizes well. Picking an amp and then selecting a headphone to go with it severely limits your options and the sounds you can explore.

Ok, well lets say i go for a pair of Sennheiser's, HD 600 or HD 650.
