Hi...I just purchased a new Cary HH-1 and am looking for a portable player that has the ability to connect to the Cary via RCAs and NOT from a mini plug headphone output.  Your thoughts would be much appreciated....thanks in advance.

If you are looking for a portable with RCA outs I think you're out of luck, I've never seen or heard of one.

One option that does come to mind is using an ipod with a custom line out cable with RCAs instead of the normal minijack - either a Rockboxed 5 or 5.5 gen or mini (with compact flash mod so it actually hold some music) or a touch with flacplayer would fit the bill.  There are other players with line out but not many people make LODs for them.

EDIT:  Looks like the Cary is a desktop amp, so any players that come with a home dock would be good and avoid the need for a custom cable.  ipod minis do (only ipod I've bought in a box - maybe they all do), and I think I read there would be one for the HiFiMan 901 soon so that might be worth looking into.
