Hey Everyone,
I am a "Consumer" Looking to get a pair of audiophile headphones because I dont want to settle on getting a pair of Beats knowing I can get way better headphones for the same price.I decided to come here at get some advice from the Pros (You Guys) as I dont know much about High end audiophile gear. My budget is $300-$500 for the headphones but I also want to get a amp for these so it would be greatly appreciated if someone could recommend as good amp as well. I want great bass not just sub bass but mid bass as well but I dont want it to muddy the other sounds. I also want great highs and great mids and lows (Pretty sure lows are bass but I will just say lows so I cover everything so please dont judge me if I am wrong)  I listen to Dubstep, House, Electronic, Hip hop and Rap. The headphones I am looking at is the Sennhesier HD 650, Ultrasone Pro 900, Beyerdynamic DT770, Pioneer HDJ-2000, Audio Technica ATH-PRO700MK2, Denon D5000 (Not too keen on the woody ear cups but If it sounds good it will be okay). I am open to any new suggestions but could you tell me the best choice out of this list also and a good choice for a amp as well.
If you could please help me out it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

I'd go  for the Denon AH-D2000 and stop there unless you have reason to upgrade.

I prefer the ah-d2000 to the overly-bassy ah-d5000, although the ah-d7000 is clearly better than both.  The ah-d2000 does not have wood cups, which you may prefer.  The HD650 is a very nice headphone, but for your tastes the Denons may be preferable.  The HD650 is an open headphone, has a more laid back sound, and needs an amp more than the Denons do.  IMHO but I have owned all of these if that helps...

Alright, and what's does a more laid back sound mean? And what kind of amp should I get for the Denons if I get them?

NuForce HD and Matrix M-Stage are good choices.
Fiio E10 if on a budget.

Thank you for the recommendations for the amp to use. And so the Denon D2000 is the best choice for me? I just want some other opinions because some people say the HD 650's are far better on a good amp so I wanna know if that's true.

Very best,

The Audio Technica A900X sound great for me. Is there any amp or dac that's really good for them or will any good amp be good for it?
