Hi all, I have been thinking of downgrading to a more humble setup.

What I plan to do is replacing my Benchmark DAC 1 with an ODAC (RCA out) and a Project Ember headamp/preamp. I have read many good impressions of the two, but have not had the opportunity to hear either.
Will anyone be able to give their opinion on whether the ODAC and Project Ember will be a good replacement for the Benchmark?

Any suggestions under $500 will be welcome too. The features I require for the amp are: preamp output/versatility to drive IEMs, high impedance dynamic phones and well as orthos (i.e. T50RP).

Thank you for you time!

If you search the web, you will find in depth comparisons of the ODAC and Benchmark DACs.

Music Hall makes a hybrid tube/solid state amp that should work well with IEMs. Might bust your budget a little. The Little Dot I+ hybrid tube amp would bring you well in under your budget.
