i've just sold my iaudio m3. besides my Dell with stock soundcard, it was my only source. so, i have a budget of about $150. what should i replace it with? possibly an old sony pcdp and an amp? or maybe replace my soundcard with a chaintech? i have some modded 225's in the mail..and i wanna have something that is gonna do them justice.

what do you guys suggest?

For that price, I'd say get a headphone amp. It's flexible and can grow with your rig(s).

You can use your current DVD or CD player with it or even out of your stock soundcard lineout or headphone out. From there you can upgrade further.

First ask yourself if you want to retain the convenience of PC-based audio, or switch to CDs.

i think i'd like to stick with PC-based audio. better access to a lot more music. unfortunately the sale of my iaudio m3 fell through. anyone wanna trade?
