These are all belt drive. Dual also made puck and direct drive tables.

Dual still makes turntables today. I agree with chillysalsa - a used <$100 deck (assuming it's in good condition with the right cartridge) will run circles around anything you can buy for that much new.

Or, here we go, an MMF 1 just posted by a fellow head-fi'er.

Also would cream those new tables.

Another favourite pick is the legendary Thorens TD160, but usually they go for around $200. But if you can stretch your budget, it will keep you happy till you're ready to spend in the 4 digits on a new one!

Still in business, but since quite some time already a subsidiary of Schneider (which is more an el cheapo type of manufacturer - but, fortunately, the quality of the Dual record players hasn't suffered, only the product range is more limited. And there's some confusion, too, 'cause Schneider has only obtained the record player branch and brand name license for that - whereas, afaik, the Metro AG holds the rest of the brand name licences. Thus the Dual logo can also be found on cheap far eastern oem dvd players et cetera... Bit of a pity, of course, as the original Dual used to have fairly proper hifi electronics, too...). Anyway, more info on their recent offerings here: http://80.146.233.151/t3/index.php?id=11&type=1 Interesting are the players from the CS435 (which can compete with a Pro-Ject Debut) up. More info and several offerings with different cartridges should also be available at www.phonophono.de. And if you're over here, most Media Markt shops have some Dual players on stock, too.

Greetings from Munich!

P.S.: Oh, and here's the link to the Dual Classics site on the web: http://www.compassnet.com/concept/
