Superlux, Samson & Takstar headphones are some of the best bang for the buck headphones.
Did you have a budget?

I thought the Superlux 681 semi-open was pretty awesome with the only weakness being a razor sharp treble that's really only bad for long term listening-maybe try the 668B they're supposed to be slightly better in that regard.
 
The open Takstar's sound almost like closed headphones, not a very good design imo, the earpads-although comfy also affect a muffled sound.
