im thinking about buying the hd25. ive tried them today without an amp with my ipod touch and listened to pop and rock music at about 70-80% volume. the problem is that i felt that the bass were a bit too weak and the treble was too high sometimes. what i need is to balance between them towards more bass... is there something i can do with an amp to create more balance and make the headphones sound well?
i have been recommended about the fiio e11, can you please explain how the eq works in this amp and tell me if using it will solve my problem?
thx for the help! :)

Amp will give you more power, you need to use it with an LOD ....like the Fiio L9 to bypass the ipods amp so you dont double amp.

E11 has bass boost settings and is a good entry level amp.

The HD25 dont really need an amp, the improvements won`t be earth shattering.

It also depends on which ipod touch you have, some have different sound signatures imho. If you have a recent model try an EQ app to boost bass, you could save money.

A free one is Denon Audio app.

Others are equalizer, EQu, Sonicmaxpro.

which app is the best?
i have ipod touch 4.
you said that it doesnt need an amp, but i was missing bass and had too much treble... someone told me that there are 2 kinds of pillows or whats it called, which one emphesaises bass and the other one treble,is it true? and if so which one emphesaises what?
ive been recommended by many to use an amp, when do headphones really need an amp? using it wont solve my problem?

Without meaning to sound like a dick, I do recommend using the search function and searching for best bass headphones etc.

There is a lot of information saved there on this subject.
