Hello everyone
 
I am new to head-fi and really enjoy music, ordered a new DX90 recently and have some good phones to match.
Now i need to replace 5 year old my Dell XPS M1330 which had SB audigy 2 onboard audio and sounds goods.
 
I am in the market for a Macbook maybe a Air13,11 or the retina pro
 
I searched but could not find the DACs used in them
 
is there a difference in terms of SQ between the 2 air/Pro
 
What would be the best in terms of sound quality also any other alternatives or any windows based systems that are recommended

The USB bus on the Air can be tricky, I don't think it's in full spec with power output. The same with other extra small, slim & light notebooks. To save on battery or weight they'll knock down the amount of current out of USB spec. 
 
The MBP doesn't have these problems and they are pretty close on price. You also get an ethernet port should you decide to use a NAS later on.
