My Dell DJ 30 finally bit the dust after about 2-3 years. It can still play fine, but the little button / scroll wheel thingy in the front fell off and a contact broke off, and there's no way i can solder it. It's just not fixeable, It's warranty is long gone and i need something with better navigation / sorting capabilities.

Ergo, I humbly turn to you, oh wise masters.

I need something that has :

-- easy navigation / sorting / playlisting
-- good battery life (college student, it has to last all day)
-- at least 8GB storage

-- Not an iPod

-- I'm willing to spend up to 150 - 200, the lower the better.

I'm not afraid of refurbished units, either.

Thanks in advance for all your input.

Bonus points if you link either a retail site or a picture of the player.

Check out your local craigslist.org listings for a zune/cowon x5
You're almost certain to get those around the $150 range, unless you're in a really small town

If you don't care about sound quality (but you probably do...) check out the ScanDisk Sansa e280--it has 8GB of flash storage, drag/drop ability, ~20hrs battery life. The only downside is some audible pops/crackling during track changes.

The Vibes sounds like a good choice here, I agree with Comen
