I'm looking for a closed over-ear headphone on the bassy side with decent clarity for around 100 dollars. Right now I have the JVC s500. They're great for on-ear but it would be nice having over-ear with more isolation.

From reviews the Denon AH-D1100 seemed like a perfect fit but apparently it has a tendency to break easily. This might be sacrilege here but I heard the Monster Ncredible Over ears and they seemed great to me but 200 dollars is twice my budget. If I could get something similar to that sound and comfort that would be great. Any suggestions?

Gemini HSR-1000 (Takstar Pro 80) closed headphone, $50 on eBay.

I actually got the takstar hi2050, but the left side sound was quieter than the right and it sounded very muffled. I assume it's just bad quality control but I wanna avoid anything chinese designed. Although I also tried the superlux 681 and that was excellent but too fatiguing with the highs for long listening sessions. If only the Sony xb800 was around ear I'd probably get that.

I'm considering the Sony MDR7506. I know it's completely opposite of a Bass headphone but from recommendations here and other websites on its sound quality and isolation/comfort it seems like something worth trying.

Thanks for the reply. I'm a big fan of the head-fi community been lurking around for a while hehe.

Sony MDR-V6, little more bassy then the 7605.
Buy some used MDR-V6 and get the Beyerdynamic EDT-200/250 Velour ear pads ($23).
