Hi

Im in the market for a new pair of IEMs (at least i think theyre both IEMs)

I have the choice of either:

UE superfi 5 pro

OR

Head-direct RE0s

I wear my IEMs straight down (i do not wrap the cable over my ears just wear them like buds)

My questions are:

Are the UEs able to be worn like this? Will the stick out a lot?

Also in respect to performance which of the two IEMs perform better?

I haven't read a lot of reviews on the Head-direct RE0's, but I do know that the UE super fi's get great reviews all around.

Ok, I looked at the RE0s and I would say that if you can choose, get the UE's hands down.

The UEs are meant to be worn with the cables over your ears. I don't know if you can wear them with the cables down. They also stick out a lot.

I'm curious, why do you not want to put the wires over your ears? I always put the cables over my ears, even with IEMs not made that way, because it drastically reduces microphonics.

Agreed. I also find o-t-e helps stability of the monitor inside the ear.

The reason for not putting them over my ears is that its just plain fiddly.

Getting under my hair (hair just about covers ears) and then wrapping them around ears is difficult

Not to complicate even further, but the Etymotic HF5 lies in that price range.

If you had to choose between the first two, it'd be the RE0, IMO. Then I'd say it'd be between the RE0 and the HF5.

It's up to you what you like from there.
