What are people's experiences? I'd like to buy one of these, but I have Shure E500 earphones which are very sensitive to hiss.

Well, I have the Shure E500 and 3rd, 2nd, & 1st gen nano's and I'm happy. (I can't imagine the Touch being any different sound-wise.) I don't think the E500 show more hiss than Etymotics, it's just that they are MUCH more sensitive (louder) in general. Adjusted to the same volume level, I think Etymotics reveal more hiss.

I haven't listened to the iPod nano, but the iPod touch has tons of hiss. You shouldn't notice it (for the most part) while music is playing, but it can be annoying.

On my ATH-CK7s I can hear a very slight hiss already on the touch when there's no music playing. Hope this helps.
