For a rough estimate of the headphone output punch of the two, I plugged a DT880 directly into each. The Nano's volume at about 90 percent was equal to the iPod 60's maximum output. As most here know, the DT880 is a difficult load, but the Nano is capable of driving it to volumes beyond my tolerance. The 60 is not.

A word of advice for those who don't want to buy a Nano: Don't look and definitely don't touch. The damned things are irresistible!
