This seems to growing trend. I've seen pets, teams, and even Baby's names up for sale on Ebay. I could understand a business trying these different types of advertising, but how could naming a pet after a business be beneficial?

I could understand selling recreational league Sports names or something because that gets the word out and gets you a good reputation. My old softball team used to do it locally, but can Softball teams make better money by selling themselves on Ebay?

The fleet center is now changing its name daily according to who wins its auction on ebay.

Do businesses actually get any benefit from having small non public things named after them?

anyway, I was just amazed by this stuff, and hoping i'm not the only one.

*edit for spelling*
