Just noticed these new products from NAD and saw that they weren't on Headfi as far as I could find. I thought some people may be interested in them particularly the DAC in the range.
here are the links to the three items in the new D range:

Regarding the DAC/Headphone Amp D1050

"
The D 1050 also includes a premium discrete headphone amplifier output with a high quality volume control. Output impedance is extremely low, minimizing the effect of connecting cables and keeping noise vanishingly low.
"

Why not just write the output impedance and maybe which volume pot is being used? Anyway looks interesting.

Will start shipping these and other new products at end of this month Sept 2013. I have a D1050 being shipped to me soon. Will let you know how it sounds with the HD-800 and LCD-2 compared to tubes.

So I was updating this post and the power goes out and the post was deleted so I'll try this again.
I picked the 1050 up saturday morning after auditioning it and the dac-it and dac magic plus with my dt-880 600 ohm hp.
The 1050 was hooked up to a nad cd player with an optical cable, the sound was good maybe a little smokey or warm which I like as my last dac was an asus xonar d2/pm sound card, with the dt-880's was a little piercing in the high's.
Then we switched to Tributaries 6 coax and the 1050 really came to life, it had more muscle tighter high's and a great mids.
So I bought the 1050 with the Tributaries 6.

The first night I listened for about 3 hours straight with no fatigue just happy as could be great sound. After 3 day's the bass has gotten better as everything else, I never thought the dt-880's could sound so full and rich It's like someone strapped a drum set around my head, drums just sound so fantastic.

So I would definitely recommend the 1050 with the dt-880's

Set up is xonar coax- tributaies 6 coax-1050- dt-880.

Thanks mate for the link. Never heard of the site and never knew about the D1050! You've definitely thrown a spanner in the works. I was considering the Arcam irDac but I think the NAD would suit my Beyerdynamic better with it's darker, bassy sound. NAD amps are always rather bassy, rich and warm, like this Dac.

I would love to see the D1050 go up against the Rega Dac. They both appear to have the same sound signature. I wish I could demo all three! Perhaps I can try to find a place in London to test these.
What Hi-Fi magazine review is out. Gave it a 5/5. It's not on the website yet just the Nov. issue.

The NAD D3020 review is up here:

Reading the NAD website they describe the 3020 as having a  'Separate Headphone Amplifier' while saying the 1050 has a 'Discrete High Performance Headphone Amplifier'  Anyone able to explain what the difference will be?

I like the idea of the 3020 used in a 2.1 system as well as for headphone use.  The remote and optical in will make it really easy to use with my TV.

$500 for the 1050? Am I reading this right? Sounds like a bargain.

Though Michael prefers the TEAC UD-501...which I was leaning towards as well.
