Does anyone know where this player can be purchased inexpensively?

How is the bass response of this player? I heard NAD CD players generally have a weakness in the bass department.

Was considering the NAD for source upgrade. But I opted to go the external DAC route. Haven't heard the 542, but most people think highly of it.

I just ordered the NAD 541i for $299. at satuday audio exchange new, not refurb. with 2 yr. warranty. Shipping via ups, double boxed and insured was $30.

I've got a C542; it doesn't lack bass.

I've read in several places that the main improvement of the C542 over earlier models is improved bass.

I got my C542 from Hippo's, and have been familiar with them for a long time. It's definitely a respectable business. As for the C542, I'm very happy with it. There's no lack of bass.
