n3pro tube mode - synergy with different headphones and iems

In answer to my own question i found the n3pro works superbly with

1. hd25 aluminium (uber modded by custom cans)
2. meze 99
3. oppo pm3

(I did discover they work best on maximum gain which is plenty to drive any of them with lots of headroom)

but not especially etymotic er2xr interestingly.
