Yes, Sidewinder, you need to have some adjustability for low and high level recordings and even though I didn't hear distortion at 2-3:00 with my amp you don't want to get the volume so high that it gets near distortion levels.

Forgot-you can order the 4 with the four switches option which includes high and low impedance switching!

The 4 is so good, its easy to hear this most basic and easy tweak-

Take out all the buffers, opamp and coat the contact legs with a contact enhancer like Caig Deoxit Gold. Also with the little gold pins that hold the top and bottom main circuit boards together. Interconnect and phone plugs. Enjoy the difference
