One of them is really quiet with absolutely no bass and extremely undefined... Sounds like a tweeter underwater.
It's not the cable, definitely the IEM. Shall I contact UE? Any ideas on what's wrong with it? hasn't been in any unusual situations i don't think - worked fine the other day!

It may be blocked w wak and the like. Look it over and clean it up/

Check for wax and use the cleaning tool. If it still doesn't work, send them in, of course.

yeah I've checked for wax - nothing there at all - I can see the drivers!
I've emailed UE - I'll keep you posted, turn this into a customer service review thread

You should be well taken care of. I've dealt with UE customer service a number of times for a variety of different issues, and have always received great service.

That happend to me one time when I replace the broken cable. The pins on the end of the cable has polarity, try to reverse it and see what happens
