Hi,
I am new to this forum but I've recently started getting into playing with audio and have been trying ways to improve my connection between my computer and my amp.
My current setup is like this:
Onkyo SE-90PCI -> Acurus A200 -> Vienna Acoustic Haydn
Basically I am currently using that soundcard as my pre-amp. After reading through this forum, I've realize that most people actually recommend ESI Juli@ as the soundcard of choice. I am just wondering if it would really be a big upgrade from the current soundcard I have to ESI Juli@ or would it be better if I just avoid soundcard altogether to go for a USB -> DAC or get a ESI Juli@ then a dedicated DAC? If it is better to get an external DAC, would it make any difference if I use the onboard SPDIF together with the DAC compare to using Juli@ together with the DAC?
I am looking for ways to upgrade my sound so I would be glad if you all could provide some advice into this.
