Surely less bassy than DT990.
While DT990 would present the grounding feeling of bass,
W100 touches the bass but not that full sized.

Though it's good enough for me, but for bassy lover, DT990 would be better.

Vocal-wise, W100 is indeed very sweet. especially female vocals. Also, it's doing string instruments very good, at least as good as DT990.

After a few days with this woody headphone, I find it's not only pretty, but also sound great.
The bass is not strong but still quite presenting.
Also got good contour of the bass lines.
Not to mention it's mid's and high's, which are the traditional ATH's feature.
One thing I like also is it's sound stage.
Although it's positioning is not as precise as HD650, it got the width and depth. The wood chamber provide a kind of pleasant resonance of the bass sound which I liked.
Well, Well. I was at first though this would only be a pretty good look headphone for collection. But it turns out to be a sound which I liked very much.
I sold HD650 and retained this baby, for the brighter feeling of it.
It's also very transparent though not quite so neutral.

Cheer for the Wooden Headphone!
