that's the back of the board. Now, I can get sound, but I need to do the output wires in an awkward way, totally different. Something like left wire into left channel and ground wire into the right channel and and right wire to ground, something funky like that.

using OPA551s necessitates shorting out pins 2 and 6

why does it look like the buffer sockets are shorted out odly?

it looks like the input and output are tied together maybe? perhaps i am reading the bottom of your board wrong, and even if im correct there may be a reason for that, but eeh, its odd.

I think one of your buffer sockets is shorted out wrong. I think you've actually got 3-7 shorted on one of your sockets.

Yes, one of the sockets is jumpered incorrectly; I just did the same thing a few weeks ago! Welcome to team D'OH!
