Hi Guys, Well its time to replace my trusty music machine the classic ipod 160gb! When amped it sounded great when i downloaded  my cd collection. It never let me down like a good friend and never complained!! Am now in the market for a mid range DAP that is simple to use but is built like a tank as i travel alot and wifi is not available but this would be a great advantage when it is available  High storage is a must as well as battery life. My mobile phone is out of the question as my player due to security reasons re files and such like. 
 
Have my eyes on the latest pioneer dap that seems to fit my needs the FIIO x7 seems a bit chunky and a bit buggy any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Paul / Voxie

Depending on what's wrong with the ipod it might be possible to replace the battery and swop out the hard drive to solid state if you fancy a bit of diy.

Thanks David, have done a bit of diy and replaced the battery, just looking for an alternative for like for like.
