Now THAT is sad. A few friends bought Sansui back then and were really impressed. Always a bit depressing when a good company abandons our market.

....I went with Teac electronics to match my 7010 reel to reel cause I liked the walnet.

The last piece of Sansui gear I still have is a 350A receiver http://www.classicsansui.net/images/...350A/350Aa.jpg and a pair of SS-2 headphones http://www.classicsansui.net/images/...neous/ss2a.jpg from the early 70's, traded in my casette deck when my receiver needed service and the tech was more than happy to accept that as payment ...LoL My dad uses the 350A as his headphone amp ...LoL

Theres even a site for vintage Sansui gear:

I was actually just reading about the old Sansui Cans on AudioKarma.com I think, I guess they were really nice and came in Grado style wood cases.

The Guinness Rubber band came with a hat and shirt deal at Target for $12, nice mod plus some body gear.

I'd be jealous, although I believe that is the first edition because the 919's also come with binding posts instead of the cheaper spring lever speaker outputs. I think the binding posts look much nicer and I can't say if its in anyway better than the older ones though.

There are two things that typically can go wrong with these amps and that is the pre in/out switch goes bad, i need mine replaced, and there is some glue that deteriorates and becomes conductive. Which could be bad but Sansui's have a built in circuit breaker so it will go into protect anytime you get any kind of short.

Here is the 919 i speak of

Sansui also still makes some Tube amps I believe, I have seen the site recently but I cannot remember it for the life of me if I find it I will post it.

Its being designed and made by two ex Sansui employees; Mr. Ohtsuka and Mr. Ohshima.

Here it is: http://www.sansui.us/Today_Beyond.htm

I found another site that showed prices for them and thats all it dealt with was their tube rigs, I stumble upon it constantly but can't find it now.
