I ordered a Sennheiser HD800 on Friday for $819. It was described as follows:

Used - Very good
Cosmetic Imperfection less than 1/4" by 1/4" on top or sides of item
Packaging may be damaged.

It arrived today, and I am pleased with the condition. The packaging was slightly damaged, with minor tears, and there are some scratches on the Sennheiser box itself. The headphones themselves seem absolutely flawless.

Edit:
After closer inspection, there is a slight abrasion on the silver plastic edge of the hinge that connects cup to headband. It's so small that it is difficult to photograph, but I have tried:

I would say that the $200 saved was easily worth it.

I paid 990 for them new a month ago.  (Thru Amazon).  The items I have bought thru the warehouse have all been good though.  I just decided to finally buy something brand new for a change.  Check your serial number.....should give you a good idea of when it was manufactured.

That is a fantastic deal considering all of the "less than genuine" used HD 800's floating around out there.    Amazon had a one day sale on the HD800 yesterday for $999, brand new, prime shipping, no tax, because it was sourced from a Sennheiser dealer.  I selected one-day shipping for an additional $8.99 so I get them today.  Can't wait!  Speaking of Amazon Warehouse Deals, I had a similar experience recently with a used HD700.  Got them for $318.  They were listed as "used-good". Got them and the Sennheiser box was a total mess.  My heart sunk until I opened up the inside box and found a near mint condition set of HD700 phones.  Like new, no scratches, or any blemishes. And they sounded amazing right out of the box.   So I would also send out kudos for Amazon Warehouse deals.   I saved $140 off new.   And with the $100 save on the HD800's, I'm loving Amazon as my new go-to source for my hifi gear needs.
