Well, that's confusing,

I "think" I will be properly amping them but I don't think I will putting a lot of well mastered music music through them - classic rock and metal.

And I am somewhat sibilance averse. Still think the 701s over the 601s?

Or maybe something else entirely?

The decision on which cans to buy has been made...I found a pair of low hours D2000 locally for $160 so I bought them. They are in brand new condition and I'm going to do the MarkL Mod and re-cable them.

The plan is also to make new cups and damp them with DynaXorb, I'll be making a mould of the cups and trying a couple of different layups such as carbon and I'll post photo's/results here.
