Hi All,

I'm new to the headphone world and just registered on Head-Fi today, but I've been checking this site out for the last few months. I must say that I'm quite impressed with what I've seen so far.

I just finished building my first amp, a META42. It was a great learning experience to say the least. If it were not for this forum I would have never accomplished this much less known it even existed. I've already started collecting the parts for my second one! I definitely have the bug.

Special thanks to Tangent, for his input and his very informative website.

Attached are some pictures of my amp.

Is there a way to attach more than one picture on a post?

Very nice! Great casework, I love those handles, makes it look like a mini-rackmount case!

Now you just gotta get some better cans for that amp

Thanks dd3mon,

I haven't seen any other METAs with rack handles, so I thought they would make it a little more unique.

Hey, I like my KSC-35s!! Head-Fi introduced me to these inexpensive beauties.

I do plan to get something less portable in the future, but I'll definitely keep the Koss's. They're made just down the road after all!

Very nice workmanship! Especially the rocker- they are a bit intimidating unless you work with metal often. The handles are actually quite practical for protecting the pot knob in transit.

Everything is very neat, and I notice you seem to have forgotten to put all the requisite scratches and dings that usually accompany the first build

. I'm sure you don't mind overlooking that minor shortcoming!

Thanks Voodoochile,

I've read a lot of your posts. They have been quite informative.

I was also thinking one could attach a chain around the handles and hang it around their neck like a necklace!

The "fragile" finish on the Hammond enclosures is one complaint I have with them. Luckily, this forum warned me of this!

The cheesy self tapping screws is another complaint I have. I retapped all of the screw holes and replaced the screws with longer allen heads.

Otherwise I really like the looks of them.

I just realized that I should have posted the amp's vitals. I'll do that tomorrow.

Nice clean job. Much neater than my Meta.

Good deal.

You're thinking of someone else... maybe ppl or KurtW?

I had to say that before someone else did!
