Happened to me, too. I got mine from ebay, so no warranty

Only bass-heavy recordings, and only really bad in some bass-heavy recordings... I've done frequency sweeps that don't do it to nearly the degree I've seen in certain MP3's. My guess is it's something to do with resonances(IE a 20hz and a 40hz wave gang up).

After about a week of being very bad, it went intermittent, and there were periods where I couldn't replicate it. I decided to try to live with it, and have been doing that for the past 6 months. It's been getting worse again in the last week or two, I might take up the Beyer tech guy's offer a while back of two matched drivers for $55 for me to replace them myself.

My guess for a few months has been that back when I had dead batteries in my CHA47, they recieved a blast of DC offset. But if you guys with META42's have been having problems, then I don't know.

I emailed Beyer tech asking how much one replacement driver would be. I don't think this was a public offer, but anyway, here is the response:

Hello,

There are two version of DT 770
The older version was 600 Ohms,
Newest/current version are 250 Ohms.

The 600 Ohms version are no longer available which means that if you are
