More like you left yourself 2 upgrade options. After the step attenuator pot, don't forget that outragously expensive ALPS brass pot ! I'm sure that HeadRoom wouldn't mind upgrading you to that pot if you desired to do so. Although if you're doing that, you might as well get the Max amps.

Well putting in the Alps RK whatever it is actually requires a slightly different front panel on the Max, which is partly why it's so expensive. They don't make a panel for the home that fits the Alps pot, and don't offer that upgrade. Not that I'd ever consider that one. It's crazy!

I agree. The pot gives you much better control of the volume. After my two bad experiences finding good volume on DACT2s, the only time I would get an attenuator is if the manufacturer will customize the attenuation curve just the way I like it.

Congratulations on the fine amp!

Strange but I'm much happier with the balanced Cardas than I was with it's single ended brother. Not quite convinced though. Still think I might be a Blue Dragon man. Now if Drew would just get some of it in stock...

Here's a question: why does the balanced Cardas cost almost twice as much as the single ended version, considering it's amost the same cable with an extra connector

Because it's really the labor, not the cable, that's the cost.

I think I'd buy the pot option, too.

Glad you're enjoying it.
