I can't seem to find these things anywhere in the Los Angeles area. Where are people purchasing these earbuds? I bought a pair of MX4s from, out all places, Virgin Mega Store. I think they did sell the mx500s once, but they don't anymore. I really don't want to pay $6 shipping for something that is only $17.95. I have heard that other companies may be using the mx500s designs but putting their name on it? Anybody have information about that? Are those more readily available?

Thanks all!

Since no one knows, I guess I'll have to mail order them.
Bummer.

I have the MX-500 and KSC-50. They sound very different! I find the KSC's much brighter, possibly too bright.
But the biggest difference is that the MX-500's are earbuds and the KSC-50's clip over the ears. They are both a bargain for <$20, I'd suggest you chose based on what you are more comfortable wearing

panoz - for rap or any bass-intensive music, I'd HAVE to say the KSC-50......it'll have nice bass - certainly better than MX500.

I have to agree with Coolvij. I own both the KSC-50 and the MX-500. I prefer the KSC-50 across the board in terms of sound, but especially for R&B and Rap -- they have much better bass.

Do you know if the KSC-50s leak a lot of sound? If I was in a library, would people be bothered by it? That's one of the main reasons I don't like wearing sr-60s out in public.

Depends on how loud you listen. I don't listen at ear-splitting levels, so no one else can hear my KSCs. If you listen at very loud levels, they're going to hear you whether you wear KSCs or MX-500s
