brimful of asha? Is that by them?

According to elgooG, that would be from the "Cornershop." I gave it a listen; it was a fun song. I guess I can add it to this list. Honestly, I'm kind of embarrassed by all my music that isn't classical or jazz or otherwise "respectable", lol. At least I'm having fun.

OK I'll admit it, The 1992 Australian recording of Jesus Christ superstar. John Farnhams version of Gethsemane is remarkable*...while not a note perfect version...I recall Farnham had problems with the original part which required singing a sustained G5, but he could manage a strong F5..so that is what he went for, and he nailed it. Along with use of melismatic runs** which I doubt other performers would have the dexterity to match. I didn't know Farnham's voice could do that.

*most performers aim for note for note performances with little inflection, while technically correct these performances come-across as insincere and sterile.
** American Idol has ruined Melisma. There is an art to using it: just about every performer on that show liberally peppers their singing with it...I suppose they do it because they are incapable of supporting their voices well enough to hold a constant pitch.
