i'm using a laptop that uses an integrated sound card (realtek) and was wondering if i should purchase an amp (ibasso d-zero) to bypass the integrated sound card. as of now, i'm waiting for the shure srh440 to be delivered. i've read on some thread that the srh440  is quite efficient so it doesn't really need an amp. however, if i were to listen to music through my laptop, would the srh440 benefit from the amp?

You need a USB DAC to bypass the sound card, an amp won't do that.
And the Shure doesn't need an amp as such.

oh the ibasso d-zero contains a dac/amp combo. but anyways thanks for clarifying.
