More bitter sweets on tearjerker ave. I play these once every blue moon and just BAM! Blurry vision..
It's not lyrics in music that makes me cry, it's simply music that I find inspirational. Instrumental/electronic music is what's done it for me. It doesn't make me sad or anything and there honestly no way for me to explain it; it just happens. And I kind of like it.
Still the most emotionally compelling, intrinsically powerful, utterly eargasmic piece of music I've ever heard - *snip

Sting - Why Should I Cry For You. I'm not even a particularly big Sting fan but this one just kills me.

The Mahler mentions made me think of the Adagietto from his 5th symphony. Doesn't necessarily make me cry but I think it might have when I first heard it about 35 years ago. Brilliant and profound piece of music.

Brian Eno's "An Ending (Ascent)" got to me the first several times I heard it. It's been used in a fair number of films now. Even Top Gear has used it on their show.
