I was for a long, long time a hardcore basshead, rap and R+B only kinda guy.  As of late, ive been reminiscing about my younger days, and with the decline in rap/r+b the last decade or so, have started listening to some good ole Journey, Aerosmith, REO.  So now im looking for something to make these types of music sound there best, and i will still be listening to Rap etc also.
Ive tried many phones/iems over last 2 years such as:
audio technica-m50s, ws55, and currently have cks77(only one i have not sold/traded)
ultrasones pro900
sennheiser 518. hd25II
denon 2000
beyer dt770 (80ohm)
sm3v2
etynomic hf5 (first real headphone/iem purchase over $25)
jvc fx700
asg-1 reg and v2
Miles Davis Tributes

All were great for for rap (minus hf5 lack of bass)

I really liked the sm3v2 and jvc fx700 the most so far.  I will probably pick up jvc's again.  Interested in senn ie80 and maybe phonak 232.  Im kinda looking for a 3xBA (or more) similar to the sm3's, maybe a lil more bass.  As far as sound im looking for, decent or better bass, strong mids, detail, soundstage, and seperation of instruments.  Price under $400 (of coarse lower is better also).  Anysuggestion??  Source is Cowon J3 and not afraid to EQ either.

Summary:  Best multi BA for rock/rap with good bass under $400
