hey guys,

i've been using garageband with a keyboard i bought in highschool (4 years ago) for a while and want to get a little more serious. i want an app that will last me a long time, that i can upgrade when new versions come out. something i can buy virtual instruments for (i am dying to start a collection of virtual pianos). i was thinking logic pro 9 when it comes out.

also, can someone recommend a good 88 key midi keyboard?

sonar and protools are good programs, though Sonar is confusing.

as far as a keyboard, check out yamaha's motif series. my friend has one and loves it.
