Music server which *won't* require me to re-rip all my CDs?

I'm looking for a music server to use while at work.

Ideally, what I want is something where I can just take a portable hard drive, plug it in via USB, and listen to the thousands of CDs I've ripped to WAV over the years.

However, the few music servers I've researched (Sony HAP-Z1ES and Cocktail Audio X30) seem to require you to rip everything to their internal hard drives.

I'd like the unit to be usable without a tablet or smartphone controlling it, since I don't own either of those.

It would be great if the unit also had a built-in headphone amp, but I could live with using an eternal one.

Any suggestions?
