Hey everybody, I posted before about getting a cheap turntable setup, and it seems that there is no real "cheap" way to go for less than $300 or more, especially becuase I have to buy a phono pre amp too.

So before I plunk down a crap load of bucks, I just wanna get some things straight. The turntables Im looking at are used Music Hall MMF5's and MMF7's. This might sound real dumb, but what speed record will these players play? I know the standard 33 rpm's, but what about 45's, 78's and other types? Can I just adjust the tone arm length and speed of the turntable, or what?

Thanks again

They'll play both 33 and 44 rpms. You lift the platter and move the belt-drive belt to a different diameter cam.

Tonearms are adjustable.

My Pro Ject came with a little hook to help put the belt on a different size cam.
Just wondering, Does the Music Hall TT come with an extra belt?
The Pro Ject came with 45 adapter, extra belt, a cartridge alignment tool that goes over the spindle and the belt tool.
Make sure the TT is packaged well, TT are known for damage during transit.
I have the Music Hall phono pre amp, don't know if J and R still carry them.
