I've been researching cheap phono preamps and ran across the Music Hall MMF-1 Phono Preamp. I haven't been able to find any useful reviews. The Music Hall site doesn't even list it - the only phono preamps they list are the Creek OBH-8/9. I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with this preamp and any insights on how it might compare to the Creek OBH-8, NAD PP-1, or any integrated/preamplifiers with phono stage in this price range ($75 - 175). Thanks!

I couldn't find a review on the Music Hall but generally their stuff is a good value. Stereophile rated the NAD PP1 class C ($129)and the QED DS-1 class D ($79, "not too bad but dynamically limited, dimensionally flat and sounding somewhat soft"). If you can find a dB Systems used (they are now out of business) that would be another good choice in this price range. If you're into DIY you could build something pretty cheap. I've heard that the Creeks are decent for the price, and you might find them used.
