I got a couple songs on emusic today that I already had on itunes, and they where a slightly higher pitch like not really noticable but a little bit higher. Both the itunes track and the emusic track where around the same bitrate. How does this type of thing happen? Does every time you do something with encoding with lame it come out a little different or something? Because a lot of times i notice slight differences between albums i have and the sound of the one on itunes.

Different codec/encoder maybe?
The tracks available in iTunes Store are encoded to AAC. No idea about the emusic ones...
