I am auditioning this DAC and it sounds very nice, this one is original not an upgraded version. What do you think is a fair market price for 8/10 condition Museatex Bitstream DAC?

How does it compare to new generation DACs under $1000? In my system, it kicks my Entech 205.2 ass.

Does $450 seem like a good deal?

By the way my non-os tube DAC sounds better then Museatex Bitstream, Museatex Bidat and even Audio Note DAC 3. I am beginning to think my friend, who made it for me, has some kind of voodoo secret. However I need a new DAC for my headphone system and Bitstream seems to be a good fit.

That's a really good price for a very good DAC.

The voodoo is in the chips and the stuff surrounding them. The single crown 1541's in my DAS-R1 are so good along with the rest of the design that I can't believe anybody complaining about harshness...ever. It will be so much better though when fully upgraded...

I want the 1541A single or double crown too.

I have 1541A and 1541, both are not bad, 1541A is slightly better with the low level details. I was not able to find a 1541A S1 or S2 for a reasonable price.

My dac came stock with S1 and I'll buy a pair of S2's if I find them but I'm not loosing sleep over it.
