So I'm getting into DJing and I'm looking for a pair of headphones that'll give me solid isolation, build quality, and comfort while still being listenable at home. They don't have to have spectacular sound quality, but I'd like something decent. Any recommendations? My price range is around 100$ US.

Right now I'm considering the RP21s.

Sounds like either Senn HD280s or HD25s. 280s have massive isolation, HD25s isolate pretty well too and are built like tanks.

I think donunus is pretty spot on with the Q40s, for your criteria.

Whoa, I thought the HD25s were cheaper!

And yeah, the 280s, though good, are "like it or hate it" phones.

You might be thinking of the HD25-SP, which are around 100$ (I own a pair, not my favorite personally).

I wish there was a place that sold phones near me so I could try some. Still undecided, but I hear quite a few horror stories of snapped and shattered headbands on the 280s.

And that's one reason why I would not consider the HD280. Torquing it as would be done with DJing would crack the headband. The headband cracked on mine after a year of normal use, but this did not affect its performance one bit, purely cosmetic. If not needing the ear cup to swivel, I'd go with the RP21.

As below, you're prolly thinking of the "SP" version. They're...not as good. I wish the 25s were $100...

Where have you seen this price?
