Hi,

Has anyone heard Muddy Waters 3CD box titled "Chess Box"? It has been published in 89.

I don't know if this box is a remaster. What sound quality should I expect?

Thx in advance,

Pierre

EDIT: I just read a review on amazon.com stating: "Not only does it have almost all of muddys songs, they have not been remastered with todays sound. Although the hisses and pops have been removed the music is in its original form. "

I know there are mixed opinions about remasters but I would prefer not to have a tiny sound ...

I have the collection. Buy it! It sounds fantastic. Very, very good recordings, even the older material. Don't worry, it's doesn't sound "archival". The recordings are excellent and far from tinny sounding. The collection is so wide ranging there are probably more "newer" recordings on the cds than older ones, and they sound really great - especially a live cut of two that shows Muddy at his best. A top notch collection. The people who did those early Chess box collection put a lot of time and care into them.
