First post so excuse the bad formatting or something.

I currently have the Beyers DT770 Pro 80ohm but I can't afford an amp right now because I'm a student and in a tight spot for money, also would like something that can run on my phone (portable). Decided to sell the DT770 and buy either the MSR7 or Momentum 2.0, but can't decide. Obviously both don't come close to the DT770 but I'd like to know which is the closest to the DT V-shape sound signature.

Other recommendations in the price range are also welcome.

Meze 99's are usually my recommendation for portable headphones, but i haven't heard the 2 that you are considering, also the meze's are about $300 new or closer to about $200ish used.

I posted this in another thread - recently bought P7 wireless refurbished directly from B&W for $180. It comes with 60 day returns and 2 year warranty. The headphones look brand new. I have been positively reviewed, you can check people’s impressions and reviews all over the web. If the sound is something that you’d like, its easier to drive with phone and also works well over Bluetooth (has AptX and AAC). Overall well detailed and good sounding, will work with many diff genres as well. I like mid and high frequencies well for my taste, low are slightly more elevated than my liking.

It's fairly well driven by my laptop but feels very quiet and underpowered on my Galaxy S8
