I'm curious what the general consensus is as i'm looking to upgrade my DAC / sound card and amp for use with a pair of Alessandro MS-2i's. My computer will obviously be the source so i'm wondering whether a DAC or sound card would be better suited in the $100 - $150 ($200 is stretching if its really worth it) and likewise with an amp $100 - $150 ($200 ditto). I plan on upgrading the DAC / sound card first, and amp last as I have a cheap amp that does a decent job (I don't think these are too hard to drive?).
Also, would a higher end sound card be sufficient to drive my cans? Assuming I am correct in thinking that they are fairly low impedance, but i'm far from knowledgeable in this area
I searched for these and got mixed answers so clarification would be appreciated.
