My left cup from MS-1 have started to crackle on low frequencies (down from about 135 Hz). Anyone know is there any possibility fix this myself? Could it be the cord or something easy like that?

Thanks..

Most likely only a hair that got somewhere where it wasn't intended to be. Heared rumours that a hoover might helps in cases like this.

Most likely "Grattle". A hair stuck in driver. A phenomenon that infest headphones with drivers really close to ear (and therefore, hair too), but especially with Grado headphones. Place your mouth near the driver and suck !gently! and see if it helps.

Whenever I hear the buzzing sound in my MS-1s, I just pull off the pad and hole them up sideways near a light. You can usually see the hairs poking out of the driver and can just grab them.

Be SO careful when you apply any air to anything near a driver.
