I'm excited to say that we've made great progress on the ETHER ES, our electrostatic version of the ETHER headphone.  We feel we've optimized our balance of extension, driver stability and efficiency (among other things), and now have a tuning we really love and feel can be called "pre-production."
 
So at this point, we're ready to go to production, and announcement details will not be too far off.  A couple of things:
 

1. Pricing was initially said to be between $1500 and $3000.  It will be materially below $3000
2. We'll be developing a new color scheme.  For RMAF it will be black on black.

 
Here are a few preliminary technical details the electrostatic enthusiasts will like:
 

1. Ultra-thin driver (we have 8 Km of material, that should be enough to make a few headphones)
2. Significantly improved driver stability
3. Extended bass; -3dB ~17Hz
4. Greater efficiency than earlier generations
5. 81mm driver

Please, keep the production model in black, it looks nice. I think that red/blue/green or any other color that isn't black makes this product look less serious than it is.
