There isn’t a CD vs flac quality. FLAC quality is identical to whatever you encode with it. Therefore, if you encode a CD with flac, cd quality is what you get.

I meant, what are you comparing against what, exactly? Are you comparing an actual CD to a streamed track, or are you just switching sound quality levels on the streaming service?

Different mastering. That isn't because of the file format.

I listen to CDs that I’ve ripped, and if I compare them to the same albums in Tidal, they often sound different, even although the quality setting on Tidal is ‘Hi Fi’. The Tidal version of the album will sounds different because it’s been remastered.

Remastered versions of albums can often sound sharper, and possibly more detailed,

The only details 24/96 has over 16/44 are above 22kHz, which is inaudible to human beings. Therefore, assuming you’re not a bot, either you’re comparing different masters or you’re imagining “more details” where there aren’t any.
