Just ignore any sentence with the word 'audiophile' in it and you should be OK. When it comes to audio the guy is a moron, but he knows MP3s.

Another site that people who are interested in MP3 should visit is: Project Mayhem (a.k.a. Hydrogen Audio)
Dibrom, the site administrator, has been working really hard to bring the quality of Lame-encoded MP3s up to the theoretical limits of MP3. Granted, that's definitely not CD quality, but it's quite good for portable use. He seems to be very sensitive to compression artifacts, which makes him a good person for such work.
